My next book purchase

This is on my wish-list. I don't expect it can beat the Liberace one, but I'm willing to give it a go.

Hornsea pottery

I probably won't have time to blog again before Friday, so I'm squeezing another post in tonight. This time it's my two cherished vintage Hornsea Pottery items, both bargained on ebay.

Latest vintage FiggjoFlint and more

My collection of vintage pottery patterns continues... I will need more kitchen cupboards soon.

From the top: Figgjo 'Market' dish, Figgjo cup, saucer + plate, Figgjo 'Daisy' tray, unknown olive green and white English cup and blue floral cup stamped 'Terra' and finally 'ALP Calypso' ovenware from Sweden.

Cecilie Ellefsen, In The Forest Deep

The lovely Cecilie's exhibition 'In The Forest Deep' opened on Saturday. Here's one of the fantastic laser-cut plexiglass artworks she showed. (Apologies for the bad reflex in the window.) There were also colorful mobiles, cuckoo clocks (with skulls!) and silk prints on paper. Cecilie does some funky jewelry too, which I guess we will have to wait for until the Christmas fair..

DEJM, Designers and crafters Christmas fair in Oslo

10 years ago my friend Paul invited me to take part in the first Designers’ Christmas Fair here in Oslo. (You can read more about that fun event on Paul’s own blog, Sweet Paul.) Every autumn since, I have been producing stuff for this event (apart from two years ago when I had a new-born who took all my time). It’s always been the highlight of my year, and I hope to be there again this time around! It all takes place at DogA on the weekend of 6th-7th December.

Below are some photos from that first fair which was held at a smaller but very cosy venue (Paul's former studio). Also, some of my very first products...

Orla Kiely at Heal's!

Two pieces of good news for me today, the first one being that Heal's is now selling a huge and fantastic home collection of Orla Kiely designs - everything from furniture to wash cloths. I'd take ANY item from this collection, but here are some of my favorites. Can't wait to get that double duvet and pillow covers... (but in yellow or blue, though? Let me think...)

The second piece of good news is that ReadyMade magazine wants to print something about my cushions. I hope to be able to post the result here later!

South Africa - Norway swap

The lovely Heather aka Skinny LaMinx and I did a little surprise swap recently. I got this funky tea towel in her latest pattern, Lava. I love the pattern and the teal blue color. Thanks so much, Heather!

PS! Sorry I didn't bother to iron the beauty before photographing it...

In The Forest Deep, next weekend

Hope you've had a nice weekend, all? I certainly did. Missed out on a fab party on Saturday due to not getting a babysitter in time, but at least it's been relaxing...
If you should be in Oslo next weekend, I strongly recommend you go and see this:
My enormously talented friend Cecilie Ellefsen is exhibiting her work from Saturday onwards, at Hunting Lodge in Torggata. I can't wait! Also, check out her Happymeat blog.

A sad tail

Those of you who read my blog regularly knows about my dog's condition. As if that wasn't enough for her little body - she was attacked by a large, vicious dog (off its leash) on her morning stroll yesterday. Luckily Gunn is quick on her feet, and the attacker only managed to bite the tip of her tail. (Her cute, always happily wiggeling tail!) There was a lot of blood so we took her to the vet, fearing that she might need an amputation. So far it seems to be only skin deep, but we have to administer antibiotics and change the bandages at least once a day. Plus try to keep her from chewing on the tail - which probably itches a great deal. Ever tried bandaging a small dog's tail? I'm quickly turning into nurse Nightingale over here... I have to add that Gunn is the most patient little JRT - she is SO good. Dressing the wound is still a handfull. (Just for the record: we don't dock tails on dogs purely for esthetic reasons in this country.)

I feel so sorry when I look at her bothered expression. Why should she suffer for this? It's so unfair. I just hope the tail heals quickly and that she's had her share of trouble now.

Scusi now online

My friends Mette and Hege over at Scusi now have their own web-site. I love it! They are quite possibly the most creative ceramists in Norway. Here are some of their work (below). Good luck, girls!

Happy birthday!

My biggest project ever turned two today. It's gone fast and it's been fun. (I wish I'd known about this during the 21 hours of labor..)

Shop update preview

These cushions (and some more) are on their way into my web shop soon.
