I'm posting this picture just to cheer myself up a bit. I'm sure that bird in my bathroom is dying, you see. I've tried feeding him regularly and all of that, but he's not very chirpy anymore. Literally. I feel rather useless, even if it is only a bird. And a bird that had already been served a death sentence when I found him. All the same.
I feel a bit like that Moomi on my son's cup, actually. So much for cheering myself up...

oh boy, normally this happens to me, a bird, a rabbit, a dog and a blue tongue lizard all happened to cross my path. You can only do your best, hopefully it works out.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm sure the little birdie had already sustained internal injuries that would not be mended, not matter how much love and caring you bestowed upon the little guy. I took in a baby squirrel one time and bottle fed him, even took him to work with me and cared for him for a week. Although he seemed to get stronger and stronger, one day he just slipped away. It's so difficult to lose the little animals. You did a good thing, even though I know it hurts...

Thanks for all your comforting messages. I was so hoping to see that little bird fly away on his wings eventually. It just didn't turn out that way, unfortunately.
