Charley Harper

Yesterday I placed an order for this abc book illustrated by the late American artist Charley Harper (1922-2007). Here's a little copy on him from Wikipedia: During his career, Charley Harper illustrated numerous books, notably The Golden Book of Biology, magazines such as Ford Times, as well as many prints, posters, and other works. His subjects are natural, with birds prominently featured. He called his style of work for "minimal realism".

I'm fascinated by what I've seen of his work, and I now want this coffee table book called "Charley Harper – An illustrated life" by Todd Oldham. It was priced at $200 when it was released in 2007. The next edition is available to pre-order for September this year... Patience is a good thing.

I have a few Haper books, but I have been wanting to buy "An Illustrated Life" since it was first published. Charley Harper is my favorite illustrator! I had no idea a new edition was going to be published. Yay!

Charley Harper also illustrated the 1950's Betty Crocker cookbook "Dinner For Two" (the first edition). It's a great addition to the collection of any Harper fan.

The ABC book rocks, we got it for our little guy. It has a nice cadence too.
I'm so happy to see Harper's work around! I love it!
