Production line

So much to do, so little time... I'm getting a bit stressed about getting my products done in time for the annual Designers Christmas Fair here in early December. This is the first lot of my pocket book covers that I'm making from vintage fabrics. I'll also be making (and hopefully selling) broaches, baby onesies with graphic prints and fridge magnets.

Cathrineholm (again)

Seeing as I was on this track, I thought I'd finally post my collection of Cathrineholm pots and pans. Never in use - they are just on display on the shelf, as they are not the best to cook with, unfortunately. They're decorative, though!

Goodnight

Bless him.

Fondue

This fondue set was a bargain on ebay. I'd been wanting one for a long time, and there it was - a complete Cathrineholm set. The only problem is - I've never tried fondue before... If anyone reading this have any tips, bring them on!

Wish list

I just discovered Society for Rational Dress. These 3 items are on my wish list.

Another talented Swede

Sweden seems to be where great design is happening at the moment. So much talent! I just discovered this talented graphic designer/illustrator who is crossing over into interiors and also setting up a shop and webshop soon. Her name is Frida Eklund Ekman and she has a lovely blog called Fridas Fina .

This is an illustration of how her living room might look after the current renovation. I love the bold combination of colors!

Petra Börner

Sometimes I wonder where I've been. Why have I only just now discovered this creative woman, for instance? Petra Börner is a swedish artist living in London, and her style is just fantastic. I was looking through her web yesterday, finding one amazing illustration after another - and suddenly I found one that looked familiar. It turns out I have a dress in one of her patterns! And I never knew about her...

Tree II

I purchased this print from Mrs Elliot Books' Etsy shop last week. At least I have this lovely tree to look at now that the one outside my kitchen window is gone..

Tree

I'm mourning a tree. This used to be a magnificent, huge tree outside my kitchen window. To my horror I saw a guy up there cutting it down today, branch by branch. It was painful to watch. I loved that tree! My great view will really be lacking now.

Shadow and light

My ray of sunshine. Even with that bandage on his big little hand.

Thank you notes II

From my blogging friends Francesca and Dawn. Beautiful cards!

Thank you notes

I love getting thank you notes, especially when the sender has made an effort. Some people are just SO nice. These are ones I've received for very inexpensive online purchases. I love the vintage one (bottom). The home-made envelope for Michael McDowell's business card also impressed me. I think it's made from a typography magazine page. Clever! Check out his work and his etsy shop - he makes interesting stuff.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Francesca and Cecilie and all my friends for their concern and well-wishes regarding my son's accident. He seems to be recovering fine, and I'm feeling a lot better today :-) Thanks guys!

Tea and sympathy

Trying to cheer myself up a bit here.

ER

I'm sorry for the lack of posts here recently, but it's due to having spent most of the weekend at the emergency room with my son. He burnt two fingers on Saturday morning. He'll be fine, but it's hard to think about anything else at the moment.

New York, New York

Today I booked a flight to New York. I'm so excited! It's for a long weekend in early November, and it was a bit of a spontenous decision although I've been wanting to go there in the fall for some time now. OK, so November is more like winter, but I'm hoping there will still be some colorful leaves on the trees in Central Park...

To get me in the right mood, I've pulled out my favorite NY dvds to watch. I'll share my top 10 here with you:
1. Moonstruck
2. The Hours (strictly not a NY movie, but you get my drift..)
3. The Fisher King
4. Breakfast at Tiffany's
5. Love Story
6. Kramer vs. Kramer
7. Manhattan
8. Do The Right Thing
9. Barefoot In The Park
10. The Marathon Man

Sweet Paul

My friend Paul Lowe Einlyng, food and interior stylist extraordinaire has set up his own blog. Paul is Norwegian but moved to New York over a year ago to 'live and love' as he says. He has written fantastic food books, craft books and in general been a driving force in styling here in Oslo. We miss him of course, but I know he'll do great in the big apple. These are some of his resent photos.

For more pictures of his great work, see his agent's web.

PS! I miss your food, Paul...

JB design is online

My web-shop is finally launched! It is currently in Norwegian only as I am limited to ship within Scandinavia to begin with (due to high shipping costs). I will look into the possibilities of also shipping to other countries should there be an interest. Otherwise I am planning on setting up an Etsy shop with my smaller products sometime before Christmas.

At the moment my web-shop line consists of cushions (pillows as you say in the US) made from vintage scarves, trays and notebooks. More is in the pipeline.

Polarn O. Pyret

SO, my webshop is delayed... Hopefully just by a day or two. In the meantime I'll post some fun kiddies clothes from Polarn O.Pyret's autumn collection for you to enjoy. I love the patterned trousers! It's great fun to have a one year old, and it's even more fun when you can dress them in great stuff like this :-)
